Ines Vasquez, evolutionary astrology and the patterns that repeat
How I read a chart
I read in the modern tradition, which is interested in motive rather than outcome. Where an older astrologer asks what will happen, this one asks why the same thing keeps happening, and what the pattern is protecting.
The material I work with is transits: where the planets are now, set against where they were when you were born. A transit is not an event. It is a season, and the same season can arrive as a crisis or as an opening depending on what you do with it. The lunar nodes matter to me for the same reason, less as fate than as a direction of travel: one end describes what you already know how to do and the other describes what you keep avoiding because you are not good at it yet.
I am careful about one thing in particular. Astrology is very good at making a person feel seen, and being seen is not the same as being helped. So I try to name a pattern precisely enough that you could recognise it, and then leave the deciding to you. Where I am interpreting rather than reading the chart, I say so.
Why I write about love
Because it is where recurrence shows up most plainly. Nobody arrives at a chart asking about the friction they meet once. They arrive about the friction they have met four times with four different people, which is the interesting number.
I am thirty-eight and I live in Lisbon. I worked in nursing for eleven years before this.
